“An Evening in Paris!”: Perfect for Strolling, Eating, and Cashmere Snuggling Tonight

An Evening in Paris invitationJust checked with weather forecasters, the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital worker bees and Highland Park Village folks about tonight’s Treasure Street. As you probably know, the theme this year is “An Evening in Paris!” (pictured)  According to the sky watchers, this wet stuff is to end sometime this afternoon resulting in cool-ish temperatures. No, we didn’t say chilly, icy, or cold. Cool-ish means one wears a charming pashmina, a casual cashmere sweater, or a snuggly scarf.

And to add to the Parisian street feel, those event smarties already had a backup plan just in case party-pooping Mother Nature decided to have a temperature tantrum. For the comfort of the expected 1,000 guests, there will be heaters, warm drinks, and entertainment (A Hard Night’s Day and Lucy Wrubel iPod) to help generate body action.

Speaking of body action, HPV merchants (VINCE, Tory Burch, William Noble Rare Jewels, Escada, Pockets Menswear, Robert Talbott, E. 61st, Anne Fontaine, Cole Haan, Scoop, and Beretta Gallery) will provides the threads (and mighty fine threads they are) for the evening’s fashion show. Oh, and the models aren’t just the normal catwalkers. How about FOX Channel 4’s Clarice Tinsley, “world-renowned model” Toni Munoz, local artist Christopher Martin and his wife Stacie, and Same Kind of Different as Me co-authors Ron Hall and Denver Moore?

Also, check out the masterpiece that artist Christopher created with some of the Texas Scottish Rite patients.  It’ll be auctioned off tonight.

And because it’s being held at the Village, you just know food will be in over-abundance and a silent auction of over 200 items. Christmas shopping can officially start tonight!

Yes, we know you’re an old-timer at HPV events, so you know that the whole thing will be taking place in front of the movie theater.

Suggestion? Enter from Preston Road via Deno’s side or Douglas Avenue on the Café Pacific side. The valets will be waiting.

While you’re enjoying the evening, think about the companies and people who have helped defray the costs, so the patients at Scottish Rite can continue to get the best treatment in the world for a smile:
