Late night show hosts make jokes about drinking and recreational drugs. There’s usually a story in everybody’s past about that memorable hangover morning-after. Movies have long centered on the off-kilter episodes that resulted from over-imbibing. But in today’s world those jokes and stories are being replaced by sobering tales of young people who took alcohol and drugs to a new dimension that is far from humorous.
To help parents respond to their children’s “issues” with substance abuse, The Greater Dallas Council on Alcohol and Drug Abusewill hold the 4th Annual “Healthy Young, Promising Futures” breakfast Thursday morning from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Doubletree Campbell Centre.
In addition to keynote speaker Chris Raymer, who will address “Demystifying Prevention and Addiction,” the following awards will be presented:
