The big hoopla at Victory Park on New Year’s Eve will probably be a major jam once the Stars game lets out and if the weather holds out. This year a wristband has been added to the mix. You see, just to try to be part of the mega festivities, you have to have a wristband to enter the area. And even then there’s no absolute guarantee you’ll get in. Those wristbands were available at Tom Thumb and the American Airlines Center Box Office. Remember that we said “were.” We’ll get to that later.
One can’t help but wonder if it would have been possible for organizers to ask for a donation of a can of food to obtain a wristband. This time of year, the food banks could really use some support. It’s hard to imagine in this day and age that organizers couldn’t have come up with some idea on how to have the event benefit a nonprofit. Boo-hoo!
Oh, and by the way, while we’ve got your attention, could someone please tell cutie pie/anchor John McCaa that, according to the ABC-Channel 8′s website, “the pre-release timeframe for wristbands at Tom Thumb locations is now over.” Not to be too tacky, but he advised folks at 5 this afternoon to head on over to TT to get the wristbands. Looks like the only place now with wristbands is the AACBO.
