Saturday’s Crummy Weather Will Not Bother “Walk for Literacy”

First, let’s get the bad news over with. Weather is predicted to be cold, wet, and miserable. Not as miserable as pre-Valentine’s Day weekend. But it sure ain’t gonna be what you would expect for the first day of spring.

Now for the good news. This Saturday’s “Walk for Literacy & Education Fair” will continue on despite rotten weather. It’s going to take place at Fair Park starting at 9. You’ve got that worried look on your face. Relax. There’s a backup plan! It’ll take place in the Coliseum.

Doug Adams Can’t Blow His Own Horn

You read how Dallas Symphony President Doug Adams spent last Thursday night greeting symphony goers with the bad news that the evening’s program, “Romance and Rachmaninoff,” had been canceled due to the snow tsunami. But what you may not know is what preceded the decision to cancel the performance.

First, think back to last Thursday when streets were starting to look like obstacle courses for dog sled teams.
